Show Notes
Successful tech industry employee Chris Smead hiked the John Muir Trail in 2016, and as a result, ended up changing his path in life. Five years later, he now heads up Outmersive Films and has produced highly acclaimed documentaries The High Sierra Trail (2018) and Highline (2020). As he prepares to embark on his next film, The Alaska Project (working title), Chris sits down with Doc to discuss the turns of the trail, hidden gems on the JMT, gear, volcanic eruptions, and how to poop from a portaledge.
